30 Hours Provision

30 Hours Provision at Burradon Communtiy Primary School

Working families with children aged 3 / 4 years maybe eligible for 30 ‘free’ hours of early education and childcare.

Burradon Community Primary School are delighted to be offering this service directly from our EYFS Unit within the school. If you are eligible for the additional 15 hours and wish to access this, you will bring your child to school in the morning and they will remain at Burradon Community Primary School for the full day. Your child will enjoy lunch in the EYFS Unit with their friends. Children will have the option to bring a packed lunch or have a school meal at the cost of £2.25 per day (FS1 children are not entitled to a free school meal). Please see a member of staff for the weekly menu. School meals will need to be paid for in advance on a Monday morning for the coming week.

Families are eligible for 30 ‘free’ hours if:

• both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family);

• each parent has a weekly minimum income equivalent to 16 hours at national minimum wage or living wage; and

• neither parent has an income of more than £100,000 per year.

The government have provided a childcare calculator which will check your eligibility to the 30 hours Childcare Offer at www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator

Parents can also find out information at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Eligible parents will be given a code which must be passed on to the provider of the 30 ‘free’ hours in order that this is validated. Eligibility for the 30 hours must be checked every three months.

Please see the additional information below. If you have any questions please contact Burradon Community Primary School on 0191 643 4680.
