Early Years Foundation Stage Admissions
Please note, unfortunately due to COVID19 we are currently unable to arrange 'Stay and Play' sessions or 'Home Visits'. We will however be in touch regarding your child's start date and to answer any questions you may have.
Children begin the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) the term in which they turn three or the term after their third birthday depending on date of birth and pupil numbers. Children who are three are referred to as Foundation Stage 1 (FS1). All three year olds are entitled to 15 hours provision, this may be offered as a morning or afternoon session depending on pupil numbers and staffing.
Currently we offer the 30 Hours Childcare Offer. This is reviewed regularly linked to pupil numbers eligible for 30 hours provision. If you are eligible for the additional 15 hours and wish to access this, you will bring your child to school in the morning and they will remain at Burradon Community Primary School for the full day. For additional information about the 30 Hours Childcare Offer please contact Miss Round (EYFS Manager) via the school office or visit the '30 Hours Provision' section of the website within the Key Information.
Starting school can be a very daunting time for both children and parents. In order to make this experience a positive and enjoyable one we aim to ensure that both children and parents are familiar and comfortable with the Early Years Foundation Stage environment, the staff and the way we organise our sessions.
Prior to your child starting school, you will be invited to join us in a 'Stay and Play' session which gives you and your child the opportunity to meet the staff and take part in some of the activities that will be on offer when your child starts school. We will also be in touch to arrange a 'Home Visit' to discuss organisation and routines as well as arranging a start date. This is also an opportunity for staff to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0191 6434680 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
